About

About me

Hi! My name is Barbara Iglehart, and I work with art and animation.

If you have any questions, comments or ideas, feel free to contact me! I check my messages often.

Though I only earned my degree this spring, my journey through art and animation has taken my whole life, and with it came my understanding of what it means to be in a creative field. Experimenting is how I keep things fresh, so I like to draw from my experience with different mediums. I’m always looking for ways to learn and improve, and the combination of old techniques and new technology is where a lot of my fascination is right now.

There’s one thing that always stays the same though, and that’s my love of color. Texture and saturation are the building blocks to most of my work. I love comics, and old video games, and I strive for the ingenuity they show - even in the face of limitation. Thanks for visiting my website!

What I do

These are the special effects that bring animation to life. Current projects involve lightning, rain, sparks, smoke and procedural generation, which can be used for a wide range of situations.

Programs: Houdini, Nuke

Lighting sets the mood and ambience of a scene. This could mean matching the lighting of camera footage (so that models look realistic when edited in), or creating a lighting setup from scratch for completely animated scenes.

Programs: Maya, Nuke

Procedural animation (eg: simulations) are an excellent way to save time and money when animating large scenes. This allows for greater focus on things like character animation, which require more manual input.

Programs: Maya, Houdini

Drawing covers a wide range of mediums, traditional and digital. Current pieces focus on acrylic landscape paintings and digital portraits.

Mediums: Acrylic paint, Procreate (iPad), Ink, Colored Pencil

Photography hardly needs introduction in this age, and its principles have massive influence over many creative fields. Editing is done using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
